HATCH Architects’ design for the AVIC Shanghai Industrial Park has reached a significant milestone, with Phase 1 set for completion, marking a new stage for this world-class aviation industry hub. David Wei has introduced the concept of “Antigravity”, creating an architectural form that appears light and suspended, embodying technological innovation and a futuristic vision. The completion of Phase 1 will provide crucial support for China’s civil aviation industry ecosystem, while Phases 2 and 3 are progressing simultaneously, encompassing research, testing, and industrial facilities to drive the development of “Shanghai Intelligent Manufacturing.” Leveraging its waterfront location, the park is designed as a green and intelligent industrial community, integrating solar energy, carbon neutrality, and other sustainable technologies to establish a pioneering hub for aviation innovation.
